Politicians Aren't Real

What is it going to take to trust our politicians again?

In an era of untrustworthy politicians, hyperbole that disenfranchises voters, and constant scandal, ESM wanted to explore the political landscape in a radio doc and examine the breakdown in trust and respect between politicians and the public.

ESM developed the idea and pitched it to BBC Radio Wales, and when commissioned, set about delivering. In the radio doc former Senedd Member and minister for education in Wales, Kirsty Williams, explores the issues behind the divide and how we can mend these bonds for the sake of democracy and the country.

Speaking to MPs Chris Bryant and David TC Davis, as well as former Plaid Cymru leader Leanne Wood and current Llywydd of the Senedd, Elin Jones MS, ‘Politicians Aren’t Real’ challenges those who are elected and those who elect them to find some common ground and possible solutions to heal the rift.
