The Football Association of Wales (FAW) is the third oldest association in the world, having come into existence in 1876.

Founded in Wrexham in February 1876 by a group of businessmen who wanted a representative team to play against Scotland, the association has governed football in Wales continually since that date.

Today, the FAW is responsible for administering and growing the game from the grassroots up to elite international level across the men’s and women’s games.
